Na de succesvolle en uitverkochte editie van 80’s & More! in SoundVille van augustus jl komt er een nieuwe editie op zaterdag 23 maart 2024. Uiteraard laten DJ CO2 en gast-DJ Henz je weer dansen op de tofste new wave platen uit de jaren 80 maar we hebben ook weer een bandje uitgenodigd! Deze keer is het de beurt aan het Schotse gezelschap Lizzie And The Banshees. Hoe tof is het dat we na I Found The Cure nu een heuse Siouxsie And The Banshees tribute op de SoundVille planken hebben staan? Het Schotse kwartet Lizzie And The Banshees speelt de hits van Siouxsie op een intensieve, energieke manier die SoundVille ongetwijfeld weer tot dampende sferen brengt. Arabian nights, Dear Prudence, Cities in Dust, Israel, Spellbound… bereid je voor op een serie hits die je doen verlangen naar lang vervlogen tijden. Vorige keer was deze party snel uitverkocht dus wacht niet te lang met het kopen van je kaarten.

SOUNDFRESH is dé naam van de fonkelnieuwe showcase avonden in SoundVille.
Tijdens de SoundFresh avonden krijg je frisse (inter)nationale bands voorgeschoteld, waarvan je mogelijk later kunt zeggen ‘ik was erbij toen…’
Met de eerste SoundFresh pakken we direct uit met een internationale band die op doorbreken staat, de UK-act SCOTT HEPPLE AND THE SUN BAND. Deze psychedelische rockband uit Newcastle is geïnspireerd door artiesten als Neil Young, Black Sabbath en Ty Segall. Deze inspiratie hoor je terug in hun rauwe analoge 60’s en 70’s sound.Maar laat je niet foppen,Scott Hepple and The Sun Band klinkt uitermate origineel en modern! Om hun album ‘Ashes to Wildflowers’ te promoten reizen ze Europa door en doen ze Rotterdam aan tijdens ‘Left Of The Dial’ in oktober én zijn ze dus te zien tijdens SoundFresh in SoundVille.
Als special guest hebben we de Rotterdamse act Sticky Sweet weten te strikken. Sticky Sweet brengt een dynamische mix van punk, stonerrock, funk en blues. Voeg hierbij de overtuigende zang van frontman Lorenzo de Rooij en je begrijpt direct waar SoundFresh voor staat.

An alternative, gothic, new wave rock/pop band from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Lasting for over 3 decades, The Essence proved to have made music that stands the hands of time. In 2018, with all tracks digitally remastered, Cherry Red Records released "35 the collection", a 5 CD’s compilation box of the complete works from 1984 to 2018.
WHITE ROSE TRANSMISSION (WRT)
White Rose Transmission is a musical project which initially consisted of Adrian Borland and vocalist Carlo van Putten. It started in 1995 when Adrian Borland (The Sound) started working together with a singer Carlo van Putten (Dead Guitars & The Convent). WRT currently includes besides Carlo van Putten, Thomas Marcin formerly from the Dutch band Aestrid.

Hayes & the Rhythm Slaves
Making his first steps learning to play the guitar at an early age, John Hayes was inspired by artists such as Little Richard and Chuck Berry.
But the biggest impact and influence on the development of his signature guitar style was made by Jimmy Hendrix, Jeff Beck and Santana.
This led him to become the guitarist for the legendary funk rock giants Mother’s Finest.
His new band
Hayes & the Rhythm Slaves was founded after singer/guitarist John Hayes in a dream was abducted by aliens: The Annunaki.
These lifeforms once created mankind (so they say) and will return very soon to harvest. Hayes must warn humanity for this decisive event. He does so by scattering an inescapable wave of genuine seventies hard rock on us humans.
Backed by Bad to the Bone’s widely respected rhythm section. The power trio starts it’s world tour on September 23 at SoundVille in Rotterdam.

Het zal je niet ontgaan zijn dat Baroeg regelmatig leuke avonden organiseert samen met Soundville aan de Oldegaarde op Rotterdam-Zuid. Dit keer halen we de allerbeste tribute aan The Cure weer eens naar Rotterdam: I Found The Cure! De jonge honden van IFTC zullen weer een doorsnede spelen van het geweldige oeuvre van The Cure, dat wordt meebleren. Zoals je gewend bent van de 80’s & More! avonden in Baroeg kun je na de band weer je schoenzolen verslijten. DJ CO2 zal je weer verblijden met al het moois dat de jaren 80 op het gebied van new wave heeft te bieden met af en toe een uitstapje naar de ‘more’.
Let op! Voor deze avond zijn slechts 100 kaarten beschikbaar dus wil je er bij zijn koop dan je kaartje in de vvk voor slechts een tientje!

Whilst the paint on the walls of SoundVille is still fresh, we’ve already found another legendary name to perform at our cozy stage in the south of Rotterdam. After the overwhelming success with the 80’s new wave band 'Sad Lovers And Giants' which sold out in no time, we’ve managed to get another big international name in music history: Miko and the Soulpoppers. Doesn’t ring a bell? Well… Miko was guitarist in Sheila E.'s band for years, later he formed The Revolution with a number of other musicians. Indeed, the band of none other than PRINCE. Miko played with Prince during the 'Sign o' the times' and 'Lovesexy' tours and contributed on various Prince albums.
After his time with Prince, Miko wandered around the world, he was a DJ in Ibiza, promoter of jam sessions in small clubs and even taught actor Eddie Murphy how to play guitar. Together with Eddie Murphy he gave an unforgettable performance at the prestigious Montreux Jazz festival in 1993.
For the past 5 years Miko lived in Ibiza, wrote new songs and formed a new band: Miko and the Soulpoppers. For the first time he will perform this new (according to insiders promising) material with his band in SoundVille and you can be there!
